COSMIQ was a collaborative project led by Talea Reckleben as Head of UX/UI Design and myself as Head of 3D Design.
Our mission was to develop an engaging and effective way to help users build lasting habits.
We designed a gamified app grounded in scientific research on habit formation,
aiming to make the process both long-term and enjoyable.
They provided valuable insights into the science of habit formation, drawing from key principles outlined in
Atomic Habits by James Clear, Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg, and Actionable Gamification by Yu-kai Chou.
These works helped us understand how small, consistent actions lead to long-term behavior change,
how motivation can be shaped through trigger design and positive reinforcement,
and how game mechanics—such as progress tracking and reward systems—can effectively engage users
throughout their habit-building journey.
Surveys and questionnaires allowed us to gain insight into the experiences of individuals attempting to build new habits, helping us identify the key stages of their journey and pinpoint where they are most likely to struggle or give up.
With our app, we aim not only to help users build habits but also to shift their mindset toward developing an identity that naturally supports those habits.
At a certain stage, users can connect, compare progress, and build habits collaboratively to maintain motivation — since pursuing goals together significantly reduces the likelihood of giving up.
For the reward system, we designed a customizable character and environment that evolve as the user progresses.
Foodecode
Our web project explores processed foods and their impact on consumer awareness and health. We aim to make information about ingredients and risks more accessible while promoting healthier, practical alternatives.
